Gas-turbine generator sets

Nowadays the power generation industry of Russia experiences a difficult period, connected with worn out equipment of centralized power and heat supply systems. Building of new power objects, reequipment and retrofit of out-of-data power stations and boilers equipment by gas-turbine generator sets for power and heat generation is the most effective way of solving this problem. The pay-off of these projects is 3-5 years.

GTES GTES "Ural-6000"

To solve the problems of our power generation industry and to supply power to industrial and domestic consumption OJSC «Aviadvigatel» has developed and is mass producing the family of gas-turbine modular-transportable generator sets designated «Ural»:

Electrogenerators of gas-turbine generator sets are driven by perm aeroderivative gas-turbines GTU-2,5P (2.5 W), GTU-4P (4 W) and GTU-6P (6 W), developed by OJSC Aviadvigatel on the basis of its D-30 turbofan of the third series, which is one of the most reliable aircraft engines in the world.

Based on gas turbine units of higher capacity of Aviadvigatel OJSC (GTU-12PG2, GTE-16PA, GTE-25P, GTE-25PA with the capacity of 12, 16, 22.5 and 25 MW) modular and shop configuration GTES-12P (EGES-12S), GTES-16PA, GTES-25P, GTES-25PA gas-turbine generator sets were developed.

The last line of gas turbines have been created on the basis of high-parametric PS-90 aircraft engine, which powers the most modern Russian aircrafts Il-96-300, u-204, u-214 and VIP-aircraft for the President of the Russian Federation.

GTES (gas-turbine generator set) developed and mass produced by OJSC Aviadvigatel are completely factory-assembled and can be located inside a building and at the open site. They can be used:

  • as the main or stand-by power supply
  • independently or in parallel with other electric power supply sources
  • when constructing new or reconstructing existing facilities for power and heat generation.

The used fuel is natural gas or casing-head petroleum gas.

Fuel:

  • natural gas as per GOST 5542 or OST 51.40;
  • associated petroleum gas, diesel and other fuels as agreed upon with Aviadvigatel OJSC.

Major Benefits of the Perm GTES:

  • module configuration provides lower investment costs of the project;
  • high efficiency by use of GTU electric and heat power;
  • completely factory-assembled design and as consequence minimum duration of putting into operation; 
  • a unique test cell for Ural-2500, 4000, 6000 GTES to be tested fully accomplished and at rated power;
  • possibility of the gensets installation both inside and outdoors;
  • various service schedules, including payment based on machine-hour.

Cogeneration cycle of the GTES (with heat recovery boiler) allows:

  • to generate electric power together with heat and hot water (GTU-CHP and PGU-CHP regimes);
  • to reduce the cost price of electric power and heat;
  • to improve environment in cities and large industrial centers with high level of ambient air pollution.

The schemes of GT gensets aftermarket service:

A. Standard maintenance:

  • making recommendations on gensets operational capability and customer consulting on the gensets operation;
  • gensets maintaining (preventive maintenance) in accordance with the gensets maintenance manual;
  • on-call specialists visit for complex technical problems solving.

B. Extended maintenance:

  • making recommendations on gensets operational capability and customer consulting on the gensets operation;
  • gensets maintaining (preventive maintenance) in accordance with the gensets maintenance manual;
  • corrective troubleshooting at site;
  • components replacement using Customer's maintenance kit;
  • permanent presence of Aviadvigatel specialists at the genset operation site to consult the genset maintenance engineers and to solve operations issues promptly.

C. Special maintenance over the entire life cycle:

  • making recommendations on gensets operational capability and customer consulting on the gensets operation;
  • gensets maintaining (preventive maintenance) in accordance with the gensets maintenance manual;
  • at-site troubleshooting, units replacement etc.;
  • permanent presence of Aviadvigatel specialists at the genset operation site to consult the genset maintenance engineers and to solve operations issues promptly;
  • provision with a set of spares required for maintenance;
  • GT genset operational capability maintenance over the entire life cycle;
  • Installation, dismantling and transportation during gensets components repair;
  • Overhaul of engine and other accessories included into the genset design.
