The badge of honor “For Merit to the city of Perm” granted to the Chairman of Perm Engines’ Veteran Council

On the eve of the City Day and Russia Day Dmitriy Samoylov, the Head of Perm, granted the badge of honor to Rashid Dzunza, Chairman of Perm city non-governmental organization Perm Engines’ Veterans.

“For the merit to the city of Perm” – such an award is given to Perm citizens contributed greatly into the evolution of social interactions in various fields.

Over forty years of his life Rashid Dzunza has devoted to the development of the engine building industry by implementing into serial production aircraft engines of PS-90A family and industrial gas turbines as well. His lasting personal contribution as one of the company managers has smoothed the way for Perm to become rightfully one of the aircraft engine building centers in the Russian Federation today.

Being the Chairman of Perm city NGO Perm Engines’ Veterans Rashid Dzunza initiated such socially important projects for the city as the restoration of the Memorial to engine builders killed at war (704 names more were added to newly erected slabs), arrangement of creative workshops for the veterans, patriotic education in technical secondary schools. The project - “My digital youth” - dedicated to young workers employed at the engine building plant at war time is being carried out with his immediate involvement.

For effective work and social activity, Rashid Dzunza was awarded multiple times, including with the medal “For labor merit”, title “Honored engine builder” by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and with a Letter of Appreciation by the Governor of Perm Region.

Rashid Dzunza, Chairman of Perm city NGO Perm Engines’ Veterans

-  For me, as the chairman of Perm Engines’ Veterans, it’s crucial that the today’s youngsters know the history of their plant and their city. The subject of preserving the historical memory as never before is the hot topic of today. Homefront veterans pass away and the memory how our predecessors lived and worked fades with them. Now we, together with the company management, have initiated renaming of the “ZhBK-1” (reinforced concrete framing plant) bus stop into “Yungorodok” (youth campus) in Geroev Khasana Street. In the war time the Levanevsky settlement, where teenagers graduated from trade schools lived, was located nearby. It’s due to their relentless work, the plant daily released 30 engines for the battlefield.
