Perm Gas-Turbine Units have become a part of Power of Siberia pipeline

On December 2, 2019 the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Head of People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping started the operation of Power of Siberia pipeline in the mode of live video conference. Gas-turbine units produced by JSC UEC-Perm Engines are operated being a part of this facility which is significant for our country.

Power of Siberia is a strategic main gas pipeline for the supply of gas to Russian consumers in the Far East and China. First of all a section from Chayanda oil, gas and condensate field (Yakut center of gas extraction) to Blagoveshchensk 2,200 km long was opened. At the second stage Kovyktin gas condensate field (Irkutsk center of gas extraction) will be added. The total length of the Power of Siberia pipeline will be equal to 3000 kilometers.

Chayanda central booster compressor station is used to ensure the start of gas supplies to China in effective way.

JSC UEC-Perm Engines supplied 18 gas-turbine units for the facilities of Chayanda oil, gas and condensate field. They include 4 pcs of GTU-25P for gas pumping units of the central booster compressor station Chayanda; 6 pcs of GTU-10P for gas pumping units of the facility of helium concentrate membrane extraction (UMVGK); 6 pcs of GTU -12PG-2 for power units of auxiliary power supply complex totally rated at 72 MW. 2 pcs of GTU-16P for gas-pumping units of Zeysk compressor station have also been supplied.

It is also planned to supply 39 pcs of gas-turbine units produced by JSC UEC-Perm Engines for the first stage of the Power of Siberia unitil 2022.  For the future it is planned to supply Perm gas-turbine units for the section of the gas pipeline Kovykta-Chayanda.

Sergey Popov, Managing director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines, the head of Russian Engineering Union Perm regional division:

 - Gazprom is our strategic partner: for over 25 years JSC UEC-PE has been the most significant supplier of domestic gas turbine engines for gas transportation, as well as for electricity generation. Gas turbine engines of Perm Engines are operated within gas pipelines as Nord Stream, Bovanenkovo-Uhta and Uhta-Torzhok,which are important for RF and  now they are also a part of Power of Siberia. Ensuring high-quality gas pumping along the country 's main pipelines is a priority for Gazprom nowadays. Therefore, Perm engines products specifications, including capacity and reliability, play a key role. Our immediate task is to finish the development and start serial production of industrial engines PS-90GP-2 and PS-90GP -25 with low-emission combustion chamber, which will reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

The long-term partnership between Gazprom and JSC UEC-Perm Engines anticipates the supply of gas-turbine units for the second line of the land section of Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline (Gryazovets – Slavyanskaya compressor station). It is also planned to participate in Gazprom projects to develop Kovyktin gas condensate field in Irkutsk region and the Kharasavey gas condensate field on Yamal peninsula.
