Casting for Perm students as per dual educational system

The program of dual education is being implemented in UEC-Perm Engines for 6 years already and it has proved its effectiveness within this period: annually about a hundred of graduates of Perm technical schools become qualified specialists and workers. The Company and Perm Aviation College named after A.D. Shvetsov (PAC) will teach students in accordance with the requirements of the dual educational system in one more specialty – Ferrous and non-ferrous metal casting since September of the current year.

Sergey Yugay, Chief Metallurgist of JSC “UEC-Perm Engines”:

–     Modern casting industry extremely needs high-qualified specialists, i.e. manufacturing engineers, technical engineers, model makers and molders. This is due to almost complete absence of the metallurgical base in the educational institutions of Perm. Except of Perm Aviation College, the art of casting is taught nowhere, and the demand for competent specialists is growing every year. Therefore, starting from the new school year, two groups of students of the third and fourth years of PAC will master the basics of casting workmanship within the dual education program.

The training system of specialists will be organized in two fields – theoretical training in the college and practical training in the Company, moreover the practice will take most of the study time. Thus, young people will be able to understand better their specialty, and the employees of the Company will have time to instill the students professional skills that are required in modern casting. The students will learn all the production processes supervised by experienced tutors from among the Company personnel. Besides, those specialists who have completed their education as per dual program will have an opportunity of employment by JSC UEC-Perm Engines right after education certificate acquisition.
