UEC-Perm Engines is preparing New Year surprises for Perm citizens

This year is not the first when the territory in front of UEC-Perm Engines entrance gate is decorated for winter season. For instance several years ago under “MiG on takeoff” monument there was a snow sculpture of a bear and MiG aircraft itself was decorated with a tricolor tail. Last year there was a whole lane of stars – illuminated composition with light chains and melting icicles.

This winter will be the first when a skating rink “Ice moment” will be working under “MiG on takeoff” monument. The first ice platform will be mounted on the first day of winter and the skating rink is expected to open on December 30.

The rink space will be over 1300 square meters (admits up to 100 persons) decorated with ice sculptures and bright illumination. There will be a warm cabin with skate hire and sharpening, lounge area and storage room. Also here you will be able to drink a cup of hot tea or coffee with a baked roll. It is scheduled that the rink will be working till the end of February. The project is implemented according to Sverdlovskiy district administration initiative supported by Department of culture and youth politics of Perm and JSC UEC-PE.

One more gift from Perm Engines to Sverdlovskiy district residents is a wonderful New Year tree which has already been mounted in front of municipal palace of culture named after A.G. Soldatov. The height of artificial framed fir tree is 17 meters. It will be decorated with an extraordinary glittering light chain, melting icicles and many colorful toys. On November 28 at 6 p.m. the lights of New Year tree will turn on simultaneously with the lights of all New Year trees in the city.

Sergey Popov, Managing director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines:

 - New Year is a favorite holiday of Perm citizens and we really wish to create New Year mood as early as possible. We invite everybody –children and grown-ups- to get this mood on the square of palace of culture named after A.G. Soldatov around the New Year tree and the skating rink under MiG monument. I’m sure Sverdlovskiy district will turn into a New Year fairy tale this winter.
