Executives of Gazprom and UEC enterprises discussed prospects for development of gas turbine engine building

On November 27, a meeting was held at the test station of JSC UEC-Perm Engines (Novye Lyady) with participation of Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC Gazprom Vitaly Markelov, Governor of Perm Krai Maxim Reshetnikov, General Director of United Engine Corporation Alexander Artyukhov as well as heads of UEC enterprises making products for the needs of Gazprom.

The meeting was devoted to the current issues of gas turbine engine operation at Gazprom facilities and joint advanced projects of the enterprises and the global energy company.

The guests were shown prototypes of gas-turbine engines with a low-emission combustion chamber, as well as a reconstructed test bench, where tests of the new PD-14 serial aircraft engines began.

According to the participants of the meeting, the special attention of Gazprom managers to the issues of operating the GTU made by UEC companies and careful study of specific projects suggests that a constructive dialogue has been established between the companies.

Sergey Popov Managing Director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines, Chairman of the Perm Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union:

- The main topic of the meeting is the reliability of engines of UEC companies. All GTUs supplied by the corporation must have equally high reliability indices. In addition, we talked about the possibility of transition to the maintenance based on engine total service package with payment for the "running" hour (in aviation there is a flight hour based concept). The contracts will be work out together with Gazprom.

And another serious issue was the discussion of advanced projects. The immediate task is to finish the development and begin mass production of industrial engines PS-90GP-2 and PS-90GP-25 with low-emission combustion chamber, which will reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere. Another equally topical issue is the creation of an industrial engine based on the gas generator of the new PD-14 aircraft engine. Our colleagues from JSC UEC-Aviadvigatel are already working on such an installation with the capacity of 12 MW. These are real projects that will be implemented in the coming years.
