A Pilot Project on Labor Efficiency Improvement Started in Perm Engines

In September 2017 as per RF Government Initiative labor efficiency improvement program was implemented in 15 regions. JSC UEC – Perm Engines has become one of 25 companies of Perm region selected as its first participants. Recently express audit has been finished in the company the aim of which was to estimate the products assembly efficiency and make a sketch of measures plan of its optimization. 

Perm Engines auditors were their colleagues from Sibur-Khimprom, NPO Iskra, UEC-Star and other companies-participants of the program. This action process was supervised by the representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Perm region, Competencies federal center and Engineering regional center. Such audit task is to detect strong and weak sides in the sphere of production system development and project management of UEC-PE.

Expert group participants visited assembly and test shops of the company and analyzed such spheres as industrial and aircraft engines assembly and units incoming inspection. In the course of their analysis the participants assessed the work organization, good housekeeping and corporate culture observance, labor protection requirements compliance, documentation correct maintenance.

– As per results of express audit we formed the list of good practices of JSC UEC-PE such as visual management of the process with the help of marker boards, competences matrix application, high level of the territory and work zones cleanliness, developed error protection system etc. Suggestions on improvement of production spheres have been formed: improvement of operations mechanization and their visualization, working on goal-setting, - said Production development system director Anton Kuznetsov.     

Now the engine builders’ task is to take the comments into account and form the complex of measures initially aimed at assembly and testing cycles reduction.

Express audit was one of the stages of labor efficiency improvement and employment support program. As per tentative forecasts the campaign organized in Perm must improve the companies’ activities efficiency by 30 % minimum up to 2025. Moreover the federal project implementation will let Perm Engines participate in equipment purchase programs, work stations improvement and co-financing of personnel training.   

The following express audit will be organized in Reduktor-PM, NPO Iskra and UEC-Star. Production system development division specialists of UEC-PE will also take part in those audits.
