Perm Engines overcome another step of PD-14 engines production certification

JSC UEC-Perm Engines continue the certification of PD-14 engine production in compliance with regulations of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Part 21 Certification of aircraft and related products, parts and appliances, and of design and production organizations. Recently the representatives of European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have informed on the approval of one of the most essential documents – Production Organization Exposition which has been elaborated by JSC UEC-PE specialists since application was submitted (May, 2017). The work was built on a dialogue with EASA: every section was discussed, corrected and comments were addressed. Production Organization Exposition contains 133 pages and English is governing language.

According to Sergei Antropov, Quality Director of JSC United Engine Corporation, this document entirely complies with European aviation norms. It details production capacities, quality management system at engine manufacturing, procedures for management of personnel, design data, documentation as well as specifies responsibilities of each line manager.

Sergei Popov, Managing Director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines:

-                     To have Production Organization Exposition approved by EASA is the acknowledgement that JSC UEC-Perm Engines apply the system corresponding to European aviation requirements. Now we are aiming to continue our cooperation with the certifying body and to confirm that the production of new generation aircraft engines PD-14 matches with what is reflected in the documents.

Actually EASA starts reviewing additional documents – standards and instructions which are referenced to in the POE. All the procedures described in Production Organization Exposition will be checked within audits which will be the next step of the certification. The first audit is planned for the end of this year. Once all non-compliances revealed during EASA audits are eliminated the certification will be completed. It is expected that it will happen at the end of 2020 – at the beginning of 2021.
