UEC-Perm Engines shall supply PD-14 engines for MC-21flight tests

JSC UEC-Perm Engines (included into United Engine Corporation of State Corporation Rostec) and PJSC Irkut Corporation (member of United Aircraft Corporation) have signed a contract for delivery of five PD-14 power plants for MC-21 aircraft flight tests.

The supplies shall be started at the end of 2018. By this time PD-14 engine shall have the type certificate of Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) obtained. The commencement of flight tests of MC-21 aircraft with PD-14 power plants is planned for 2019. For 2021 it is scheduled to complete the tests and obtain the type certificate for MC-21 aircraft with PD-14 engines.

-                     The contract signing with Irkut Corporation is specific step for our engines to launch the state-of-the-art Russian liner into the sky. The company is ready to deliver PD-14 within the set terms. Besides under the contract the specialist of UEC-PE Customer Support Division shall be present at all flight tests to maintain the engines on a timely basis. 

PD-14 is the base turbofan engine which is being manufactured in wide cooperation of UEC companies for MC-21 airliner with sophisticated technologies and materials applied including composites.

In December UEC started the third stage of flight tests of PD-14 engine being part of
IL-76LL test bed in Gromov Flight Research Institute ( Zhukovsky, Moscow region). It’s held with participation of certifying authorities’ representatives and is meant to confirm officially the results of the first two stages. Simultaneously various special ground test of PD-14 are taking place.
