Today the Authorized representative of RF President M.V. Babich, Minister of RF Transport M.Yu. Sokolov and Governor of Perm Krai M.G. Reshetnikov paid a visit to UEC-Perm Engines.

The delegation visited the out-of-the city test facility of JSC UEC-Perm Engines located in Novyje Ljady to witness the results of test bench ¹ 1 reconstruction completed in September this year.

This is a universal, adapter based test stand which will accommodate the testing of different aircraft engine types – both PS-90A and PD-14 engines. According to the experts, this is one of the most sophisticated test benches in Russia.

With all civil and installation works completed, the test bench is now undergoing the final stages of commissioning, control system and software debugging. In addition to the test bench, two preparation shops intended for pre-test engine preparation have been renovated. The work stations located in one of the preparation shops are used for engine build-up and connection of all its systems to a special adapter used as an interface to the test stand and the post-test removal, preservation and shipment of engines to the customers.

By May 2018 a wide range of certification works shall be carried out for test cell certification and already in June the first serial new generation engine PD-14 shall be tested there, which after that will continue its testing program as part of the Russian MC-21 aircraft.

According to Sergei Popov, Managing Director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines, Chairman of Perm Regional Branch of the Russian Engineering Union, in further strategic plans of the United Engine-Building Corporation intends to create a test facility complex, logistic and assembly facility for final assembly of high power engines (in the thrust range from 35 to 50 tons) for wide-body long-haul aircraft.
