Till the end of the year Perm Engines will supply another eight PS-90A-76 engines to Russian Air Forces

Yesterday, July 20, the meeting of Sergey Popov, Managing Director of JSC UEC-Perm Engines, with Lt. Gen. Vladimir Benediktov, Commander of Military Transport Aviation of Russian Air Forces, was held within Aviation Salon MAKS-2017. PS-90A-76 engines delivery for heavy cargo aircraft IL-76MD-90A was on the agenda.

As of today Perm Engines have manufactured and handed over 24 engines to Aviastar-SP in Ulyanovsk which releases the aircraft. Till the end of the year another eight engines will be sent to the Customer.

-                For a year and a half since first IL-76MD-90A aircraft arrived we have managed to assess quality, reliability and high performance of modern PS-90A-76. Russian Air Forces count on new fleet of the airliners powered by Perm engines. As the Operator I can tell that we didn’t find any weak points in the engine, - emphasized Vladimir Benediktov. I want to mention that superheavy strategic aircraft are deployed by the army and require more powerful engine. Therefore in prospect we are expecting new PD-35 with increased thrust that suits for such machines, he added.

IL-76-MD-90A is a modernized version of IL-76MD powered by more efficient and ecofriendly PS-90A-76 engines with reduced noise level. New aircraft have reinforced landing gear and power-weight ratio and up-to-date on-board equipment.
