Perm finalists of All-Russian Multidisciplinary Olympiad Star got free package tour to Artek

In the beginning of April nine Perm schoolers are going to children’s camp Artek for international field-oriented session dedicated to space and science. This opportunity has become available due to successful participation in All-Russian Engineering Olympiad Star that was held for the first time in Perm in December last year. Perm regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union and UEC-Perm Engines have acted as originators of this serious and prestigious competition oriented to find youngsters talented in engineering disciplines.

More than 200 thousand schoolers across the country have taken part in Star Olympiad. Finalists from Perm Region are students of school No.76 who tackled tasks from engineering and metal technology fields and have intimate knowledge of aviation and aerospace machinery.

“Such a unique chance as a trip to Black Sea coast with the most talented and intelligent children from different towns and cities of Russia has been given to our students for the first time. For the secondary school it is an excellent result – said Tatiana Lepikhina, Principal of School No.76 - Orientation towards Physics and Math is in demand among the students and therefore we are trying to develop it: implement additional elective and thematic courses and surely we are regular participants in competitions and olympiads”

“Multidisciplinary Olympiad Star is a movement, which dozens of cities have joined, and which involves the best higher education institutions and industrial companies of Russia. Participation in the competition gives to self-motivated students an opportunity to expand their vision, obtain some bonuses for entering a university and make the first step to the future profession. That is why Perm regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union actively supported the Olympiad in Perm Region having organized qualification stage in more than 20 schools. We are pleased with the whizz kids’ success, and I’m sure, by participation in such projects we train future engineers, manufacturing and test engineers – prospective resources for the company”, noted Sergei Popov, Managing Director of JSC UEC-PE, Chairman of Perm regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union.
