“Perm Engines” congratulated female workers on holiday in extraordinary manner

On the 6th of March, the day before International Women’s Day, the ceremony of Raisa Zemskova Award, named after the woman who worked for “Perm Engines” more than 34 years, was held in A.G. Soldatov Palace of Culture. It’s one of the most prestigious plant awards which is granted to the best female workers. Next day, 7th March, there was a performance of Perm military band conducted by col. Evgeniy Tveretinov in front of the company checkpoints. It was not by coincidence. One of the brightest memories of Raisa Zemskova was the orchestra blaring on the company square before the shift.

According to the results of 2016 fifteen women became the laureates of Raisa Zemskova Award including a polisher and carpenter, CNC machine operator and chemistry lab technician, technical engineer and inspector foreman, lathe operator and test operator … Knowing these sophisticated trades lovely female-engine builders cope with the most complicated production tasks.

Giving the awards Sergei Popov, Managing Director of JSC “UEC-Perm Engines”, Chairman of Perm regional branch of the Russian Engineering Union wished to all female workers to stay as fascinating, beautiful and lovely as they are. “Despite your natural femininity you miraculously combine courage, ability to make serious decisions, lucid mind and talent of true diplomats. Watching you day after day makes everyone understand that Perm engine building is in good hands, you can cope with any tasks and projects. Thank you for vividly coloring our workday life and bringing spring against all weather forecasts”, said S.V. Popov

Each of the laureates has her own way to the engine building. For instance, Lidiya Astrakhantseva dreamed of being a tailor but after school graduation in 1979 following the advice of a neighbor made a different choice and became a polisher. She treats blades and vanes of PS-90A aircraft engines and industrial engines. Being one of the most experienced specialists in a team she is the example for others of the employee’s approach to work: the results of her work always pass 1st article acceptance, she never has returns from assembly and allied shops, and overfulfills the shift task 120%-130%. Quality, according to her, is crucial because Perm engines must always work soundly - both on the ground and in the sky.

One more laureate of Zemskova Award is Nina Ovchinikova, inspector foreman, in her childhood she wanted to connect her life with the medicine. And after she had graduated school in Chastinkiy region she moved to Perm to her sister who worked in the plant. It was her who recommended her to enter secondary school No. 1 and become an inspector. Shop colleagues say that Nina Ovchinnikova is a master of inspection technics of complicated parts and assemblies, actively takes part in 5S work place organization, in preparation for and certification of production and repair of aircraft engines.
