Got diplomas and straight to the shop floor!

On the 10th of February alumni of Perm Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies – participants of practice-oriented education received diplomas of secondary vocational education. JSC “UEC-Perm Engines” together with Technical School have been implementing dual training project for students since 2015 and these are the first graduates.

Forty two alumni trained as locksmiths and operators of multiple type of equipment will start working for the company till the end of February: they have submitted all documents to HR department of “Perm Engines” and currently are undergoing medical examination. For two years young people have attended classes on specific schedule: a week – at school, a week –on the shop floor at the machines. Therefore now, according to the very youngsters, adaptation in the production facility is not a big deal. Many of them spent summer vacation in the company earning some money and gaining experience.

Pavel Yashin, alumnus-locksmith, shared that in the first year he had been practicing in the research and training shop, second year – in shop No. 41 where he is eagerly awaited now. Aleksander Koshkarov, operator trained in shop No. 33, will also return to the team which has become familiar. Although he still doesn’t know which machine he is supposed to operate. First three months for the newcomers will pass under scrupulous guidance then they’ll go through a small test – attestation to get a permit to work independently.

Olga Krasavina, HR Director of JSC “UEC-Perm Engines”, granting the diplomas to the alumni wished her future colleagues to become high level specialists, to be good at what they do and promised they would have further professional development in the company.

Vyacheslav Aspidov, Director of Perm Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies, noted that the major advantage of dual training is getting hands on work experience and recruitment. “The fact that “Perm Engines” management understands the necessity of such systematic approach to students’ involvement in the production process is fascinating. The education is compassionate, neat and competent with careful mentors’ assistance.  It is essential for adaptation in a team”, said Mr. Aspidov.

The system of dual vocational training is continued: this year the same curriculum is delivered to second year group of students from Technical School of Industrial and Information Technologies – future machine fitters. They are currently learning the trade of CNC machine operators at production site.
